This
Valentine’s
day,
drivers
of
Coweta
County
School
System
buses
will let
parents
know how
much
they
appreciate
them.
Several
schools
are
helping
students
send
valentine’s
Day
cards to
their
bus
driver’s
on
February
14, and
school
bus
drivers
are
planning
to wear
red and
send
home a
“thank
you”
valentine’s
letters
to the
parents
of their
bus
riders
to
celebrate
the day
The
gesture
has
grown
from a
push by
the
American
School
Bus
Council
called
“Love
the
Bus,”
which
encourages
parents
and
school
children
to let
their
bus
driver
know
they are
appreciated.
“I
figured
that it
was
important
to let
the
parents
and
students
we know
we
appreciate
them,
too,”
said
Judy
Gresham,
who
heads
Coweta
County
school’s
transportation
department.
The
American
School
Bus
Council
also
uses the
day to
let
parents
know
that
school
buses
are the
safest
form
transportation
for
getting
children
to and
from
school,
and to
pass on
safety
tips for
children
such as
being
alert to
traffic
and
following
bus
driver
directions
before
crossing
the
street
to meet
the bus.

Elm
Street
student
Ashley
Bullington
– who
attends

School
at

Parkway
Elementary
School –
boards
the
school
bus of
Connie
England,
who is a
26-year
veteran
of the
Coweta
County
School
system
transportation
department.
Coweta
County
bus
drivers
are
celebrating
Valentine’s
Day by
encouraging
parents
to “Love
the Bus”
and by
letting
parents
know how
much
they
appreciate
