In the fall of 2006, over 200 Atkinson students from Kindergarten through Fifth Grade memorized and sang the words to the National Anthem for Mrs. Moseley. These students were recognized as "Star-Spangled Banner All Stars" on the Atkinson closed circuit news station, and received a special American flag dog tag award. Mrs. Moseley has started listening to students who wish to be added to the All Star list this school year. It is never too late to become a "Star Spangled Banner All Star"!!!!

The Star Spangled Banner
1814
Words by Francis Scott Key, Music by John Stafford Smith
O say, can
you see, by the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
O say does that star spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free, and the home of the brave?
