Important dates & information 

·        The school is now using a Health Department recommended antibacterial foam soap in our student restrooms in an effort to keep our students as “germ-free” as possible.  Unfortunately, many students have found this foam soap entertaining, and are playing with it, rubbing it on their arms, mounding it up on their hands, etc., and simply wasting it.  We have already used a 6 weeks supply in just two weeks of school. We are closely monitoring and reminding the students at school.  We need you to help us at home.  Please talk to your students about appropriate use of the hand soap- wet hand, apply small amount of soap, lather, and rinse.  We simply cannot continue to waste this soap.  We appreciate your support and your help with reminding your students about proper hand-washing practices.

·        Lunch ID Numbers – Your child will use their ID number for checking out books in the media center and when purchasing lunch.  If your child doesn’t know their number, please practice it with them.

·        Please remind your child to bring their library book to school each day.

·        September 7 – Labor Day Holiday….NO SCHOOL!!                                    ·        September 11 – Grandparent’s Day

·        September 16 - Progress Reports go home                                                   ·        October 1 & 2- 1^st Grade Bake Sale

·        October 15-Report Cards come home                                                            ·        October 16 & 19 - No School

·        It is vital that your child knows addition and subtraction math facts.  Please encourage your child to study these facts in order to increase his/her speed.   A great website to help practice math facts is http://www.aplusmath.com/Games/index.html

·        Please support our school by using your Kroger & Publix commitment cards when doing your shopping.  If you have other family members (grandparents etc.) that would like a card, please contact the school.

·        Please continue to support our school by clipping and sending in Box Tops for Education. Our box top coordinator has asked that all box tops be trimmed before you turn them in.

·        Children are welcome to bring a healthy snack to school daily. 

·        Show school spirit!!  Remind your child to wear their Arbor Springs t-shirt or blue/green on Friday. 

·        Please practice addition and subtraction facts with your first grader.  Two helpful websites are www.aaaknow.com/, and www.primarygames.com/curriculum/math.htm .  It is vital that your child learns his/her facts.
