East Coweta High School      Français IV         Madame Pamela White

Vous etes fantastiques!  You are terrific!  I would like to welcome you back.  Felicitations!  Congratulations on your decision to continue your study of French.  As you have discovered, French is a language that broadens your horizons and opens doors to a would of new experiences and opportunities.  French offers you the chance to communicate with new people and learn about their culture, the opportunity to explore the wonderful variety of the French-speaking world, and maybe one day the possibility to travel, study or even work in a country where French is spoken…knowing French gives you that extra little “plus” that makes life richer and more enjoyable!

With Discovering French-Rouge, Units 6-10, you will learn to communicate on a variety of topics useful when you travel abroad:  making a train reservation, staying in a youth hotel, shopping for things you need, asking for services, etc.  But you will learn much more than that.  First, you will expand your communications and reading skills.  You will also learn to express your thoughts more naturally and effectively.  You will increase your awareness of the francophone world and become more familiar with many contributions that French-speaking people have made in the world of arts, sciences, and great ideas.  Remember that in the world there are millions of young people who, like you, are learning French!  Allez-y! “Les themes et objectifs” in each unit will provide you with the appropriate culture, language et communication..  In addition to the textbook, we will read various literary selections from the Images, as well as condensed excerpts from other French classics.  Periodic exercises of grammar and verb usage are taken from Troiseme Livre

Parent, please feel free to contact me at any time.  The best way is by email:  pam.white@cowetaschools.net.  I can also be reached at 770-254-2850.  I will be available for remediation on Tuesday mornings before school and Thursday after school.
