If you are interested in participating, please see Rachael Copeland for details. It will be held during fourth block on February 11 in Mr. Reed's room on Brown Hall. Three will be a planning meeting on Wednesday, February 3 in the senior cafe for those interested in helping out.
•On Saturday, February 13, we will be going to the Benton House, the newest senior living community in Coweta County, to help make chocolate covered strawberries. We will be there from 1:30-4:30 p.m. This is an easy and fun way to get three hours!
•The local scholarships are available through the ECHS website. The National Honor Society is offering a scholarship to seniors here at East Coweta. We encourage you to apply for this scholarship.
•Hours sheets will NOT be accepted after April 1. Please keep this deadline in mind over the next two months. Seniors especially need to be aware of the completion of their hours sheet. If seniors do not turn in their hours sheet on time, they will not be able to wear the cords for graduation and honors night.
•The baseball team is looking for volunteers to run the concessions stand at home games. Please see the baseball coach or Mrs. With for more information.

We have started a project within the school to help members earn their in-school hours. There are a LOT of teachers that have already requested help. Members will have the chance to aid teachers in classroom repair or with any need the teachers may have. If you are interested, please contact Mrs. With via email at glenna.with@cowetaschools.net or stop by her room, RD 1010. If you are assigned a teacher, you are expected to start helping that teacher as soon as possible.

•East Coweta will be holding a Black History Month event on February 25th in the main campus cafeteria. Please see Rachael Copeland for sign-up. We will need volunteers for setup and cleanup and serving food. This event will be similar to the International Festival. We encourage participation!

•The radio station J93.3 will be collecting Valentines cards for children around the metro Atlanta area. You will get one hour for every 10 homemade cards you make. Messages should be positive and loving, and the cards need to be gender neutral. The cards are due by Monday, February 8. You may drop them off in RD 1010 or RD 1008.

•Our annual sock drive is now under way. Bring in 6 pairs of socks for one hour. This project will be available until hour sheets are due on April 1.

•On March 20th, we will be participating in the Great American Cleanup in downtown Newnan. Volunteers meet at the City Hall, are given all necessary trash removal equipment, and are assigned an area of the city to clean up. Lunch is provided for the volunteers afterward. We want to make a big club appearance here to show our involvement in the community. More information to come.

We are always collecting eye glasses for the Lions club. Two pairs of glasses is the equivalent of one service hour.

• The Newnan Community Theater Company has recently purchased some new theater seating. Before installing the sets, they must be cleaned. The Theater always needs help ushering and working concessions. Please call the Newnan Theater Company at 770-683-6282 for more information.
