Evans new 6th graders!

Evans Middle School would like to thank the students and the faculty for participating in the St. Jude Children?s Research Hospital Math-A-Thon this year.

St. Jude Children?s Research Hospital is internationally recognized for its pioneering work in finding cures and saving children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases.  St. Jude freely shares its discoveries with scientific and medical communities around the world.  No family ever pays for treatments not covered by insurance, and families without insurance are never asked to pay.  Evans raised nearly $2000.00 this year ($1978.95) for St. Jude.  Eighth grader, Bobby Swint has been Evans top Math-A-Thon fundraiser for three years in a row.  Evans is proud of everyone who contributed to St. Jude.

Laura Lambert and Mary Brooks Gallagher received SUPERIOR ratings in the Foreign Language Association of Georgia Spoken Language Contest held Saturday, April 19, at Northview High School in Duluth. Both girls competed in the high school division of French I.
Bravo!

Evans is proud to announce our teacher of the year Vera Perry-Harris! Congratulations!

Evans Academic Bowl team won the County Championship title on Monday, March 24th, at Arnall Middle School. Pictured are, front left to right: Bryce Griffiths, Melinda Smith, Laura Lambert, Cassidy Lyon, Allison Booth, Jake Kneidel. Back: Mason Brantley.

Congratulations to Carson Vaughn and Allie Crain on their strong representation of the Evans Cougars at tonight's Optimist Club Oratorical Contest!

Carson brought home a silver medal for Evans with a second place finish for the boys and Allie brought home a bronze medal with a third place finish for the girls. They both did a tremendous job in preparing and delivering their speeches - something most of us would be a nervous wreck doing even as adults, much less as middle school students. Thanks and way to go to Ms. Whitlock as well for helping the students prepare for the contest. It was a fun night and another proud time to be an Evans Cougar!
