Requirements for Student Registration
Coweta County school attendance
is determined by district. To check your home’s
district, call the school transportation office
at 770-254-2820.
All registrations are made at you child’s
districted school during regular business hours
(click here for a
directory of schools)
Pre-Kindergarten Registration closes in March.
All other grades may be registered at any time.
Registration Form
(2007-2008 school year)
To register a child in Coweta County schools,
you will need:
Certified copy of child’s birth certificate (not
hospital copy)
Two proofs of residency, including:
- Current
electric bill in parent’s or legal
guardian’s name or letter from the
electric company stating service has
been connected, and....

Current
lease or purchase agreement or deed in
the parent’s or legal guardian’s name.

State ID or
driver’s license of parent or legal
guardian registering student.
Custody papers (if applicable). If
student(s) parents are divorced, a copy
of the final divorce decree must be
provided.
By the first Day of school, the school
will need:

Child’s
Social Security Card (or signed waiver)
-
Immunization
certificate (Georgia Form 3231)
-
Hearing-Dental-Vision certificate
(Georgia form 3300)
-
Emergency
contact information and parent consent
form
If a child is being enrolled for the
first time in a Coweta County school,
parents should call and stop by the
school for registration at the earliest
possible date with a child's birth
certificate and proof of residency
documents to begin the process. The
school can then work with parents to
obtain other documents as needed.
If you are not sure what schools serve
your home, call our transportation
department at 770-254-2820 and tell them
your home's street address to check the
district.
*Parents residing with another
person not having their own proof of
residency must complete an affidavit at
the Coweta County Board of Education
located at 237 Jackson Street, Newnan,
Georgia 30264. Affidavits may be
completed Monday through Friday between
the hours or 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and
2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. The parent and the
person with whom the parent is residing
must both come to the Board of Education
and provide two items from the following
list for address verification:

property
tax records which indicates the
location of the residence

mortgage
documents or a security deed which
indicates the location of the
residence
-
apartment or home lease or rent
receipt indicating the current
address
-
current
utility bill for electricity or
utility application for electricity
showing the current address
-
voter
precinct identification card

You must
actually reside in your home in the
school’s attendance area. If you do not
actually occupy the property, but have a
move-in date, please contact the
Superintendent’s office at 770-254-2802.
Your child's school can also help if you
have any questions about enrollment.
Call the registrar or principal's office
at your district school anytime between
8 a.m. and 3 p.m. on any working day for
help when registering a child for the
first time in Coweta County schools.
Immunization and health screenings can
be obtained from private physicians and
from the Coweta County Health
Department, at 137 Jackson Street in
Newnan. The county health department
gives immunizations and screenings
Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 11
a.m., and 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. An
appointment is required at the Newnan
office.
For more efficient service, bring copies
of former immunization records with you,
and bring all pertinent Medicaid
information if applicable.
