Georgia Special Needs Scholarship Information
Instructions for Requesting Transfers based on Senate Bill 10:
1. Parents should go to the Georgia Department of Education website (Link to DOE Website) and follow the Special Needs Scholarship link. This site contains a useful Frequently Asked Questions link that addresses most concerns.
2. If a parent wishes to request a transfer to one of the schools in the Coweta County School System, he/she must complete the Georgia Public School to Public School Transfer Request form that is located on the website and mail or deliver it to Dr. Steve Barker at 237 Jackson Street, Newnan GA 30264.
3. The request will be considered based on the capacity of the school building and or program, the class size capacity by grade and subject including anticipated growth during the school year, and the programs of service stated in the student's IEP.
4. A written response will be mailed to the parent on the approved form provided by the Georgia Department of Education.
